Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye believes Mamelodi Sundowns will beat Orlando Pirates in their top-of-the-table clash.
The Buccaneers could go nine points clear, entering the game with a six-point lead in the Betway Premiership, with Sundowns having one game in hand.
Meanwhile, Masandawana will aim to cut the gap to just three points, as 60 000 tickets have been sold for the clash at the FNB Stadium.
Khanye believes the defending Betway Premiership champions will shine through, and end Pirates 11-match winning streak at home.
“Mamelodi Sundowns is going to win by 2-1,” he told this website.
“Mokoena is going to score, Leon from Colombia is going to score. Mofokeng will score for Pirates.
“We’re expecting a very tough game. It’s not going to be easy. This is a decisive game. I don’t think Pirates want to play an open game.
“So Sundowns because of the experience. They don’t have a very good season, as we see, the league is so close. This has never been for a while in South African football, but Pirates are very good this season, one of the best attacking teams in South Africa, if not the best currently.
“And a good mix with youngsters and experienced players, credit with their proper scouting and compliment for Orlando Pirates also the style of play. This is how South African team is supposed to play, especially big teams.
“It also benefits the national team, though Sundowns have got experience of Champions League. Those players, they can win games without the coach.
“Their coach, for me, is still the suspect. Miguel Cardoso, I don’t think the identity of the team is actually came then and changed a lot of things. But they’re very strong and got lots of experience.
“They’re going to play the quarter-final of Champions League. It tells you how strong they are, special players. So there’s still a strong side.
“You can look at their position on the log, and I still believe they’re going to win this league. Yeah, after today’s game, you will see after game they will have the confidence after beating Pirates.”
