Pirates vs Sundowns starting 11s

Posted on February 18, 2026

These are the matches Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns supporters look forward to every season, regardless of league standings. This time, however, league positions add extra weight to the occasion.

The Sea Robbers, six points clear of Kabo Yellow at the top of the log, host Sundowns at 19:30 at FNB Stadium.

With so much talent available, team selection was always going to attract attention. In the build-up, Sundowns’ Bathusi Aubaas was the only confirmed absentee due to suspension for accumulated yellow cards.

Orlando Pirates come into the clash after a dominant performance against Marumo Gallants last weekend, while Sundowns secured a composed 2-0 win over MC Alger in the CAF Champions League at Loftus Versfeld.
