Seema Gives Update On Sekgota Progress At Siwelele

Posted on February 18, 2026

Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema says winger Kgaogelo Sekgota is coming along well and the biggest thing being to achieve mental fitness.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star joined the Free State side in January as a free agent having left Magesi FC following reported off the field issues that also saw the 28-year-old check himself into rehab. The Limpopo-born attacker has however enjoyed a good start to his Siwelele tenure scoring on debut last month.

Speaking after the sides’ goalless draw with Polokwane City over the weekend, Seema said they are starting Sekgota to give him confidence and they are optimistic he is on the right path.

“He’s coming, he’s been out for long you can see him here he’s trying, he’s working hard,” said Seema.

“So, he’s getting there. We are just giving him confidence even to start in the game. He’s more of working on his mental strength more than anything. That’s why we are starting him so that he can understand that he’s a good player.

“Sooner or later once he gets back to into his fitness, he’ll be right. So, he’s settling in very well and we are happy for him.”
