New update on Kabelo Dlamini’s future at Orlando Pirates

Posted on February 11, 2026

Orlando Pirates midfield maestro Kabelo Dlamini has struggled for game-time under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

In total, Dlamini has made eight appearances for the Buccaneers this season but there’s a catch. None of his appearances have come as starts!

In fact, he’s featured for just 122 minutes of action this season.

Update on Dlamini’s Orlando Pirates situation

The truth of the matter is that Orlando Pirates have serious depth this season.

They’re not the MTN8 and Carling Knockout champions by chance. They’re also not the league’s log-leaders by accident.

The likes of Relebohile Mofokeng, Oswin Appollis, Sipho Mbule and Andre De Jong are firing on all cylinders.

And this makes game-time a serious challenge for Kabelo Dlamini.

Despite his situation however, a new report has surfaced regarding the club’s actual stance on the struggling midfielder.

According to insiders at the club, Dlamini is still viewed as an important figure at Orlando Pirates.

Even if he’s not cracking the starting lineup at the moment, his experience is deemed vital by the club’s top bosses.

“Sources insist that, unlike Ndah’s situation, an early separation is not being considered for the attacking midfielder at this stage,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

“According to the informers, Dlamini remains part of the club’s plans under head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, even if his involvement has been restricted thus far.”

Dlamini’s numbers in the PSL

Kabelo Dlamini has already made over 200 appearances in the PSL. The 29-year-old midfielder has 21 goals and 23 assists at Orlando Pirates FC.

He joined the club from Bloemfontein Celtic back 2019. At Celtic he scored seven goals while assisting one more.
