Sobhi On What They Know About Chiefs

Posted on February 8, 2026

Al Masry centre-back Khaled Sobhi says his team are aware of how big a club Kaizer Chiefs are on the African continent but will not mind that too much in their CAF Confederation Cup match.

Al Masry and Chiefs meet in a do or die group d encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with the stakes very high as the winner of this clash could see themselves progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Having already met this season where Al Masry was victorious, Sobhi says the Egyptian side wants to do even better than they did in the first leg at home.

“Kaizer Chiefs team are not only a big team in South Africa, [but] a big team in Arica totally,” said the Egypt international.

“But from our side it’s just all about preparation. We always check what we did, check what can we do better.

“And we prepare with our coach as we said to check all the key points and how to stop it and to get better results than in the first one.”

The match kicks off at 15:00 at Peter Mokaba Stadium this afternoon.
