Ubuntu Talent Makes Exciting Move To Europe

Posted on February 7, 2026

Ubuntu Football forward Losika Ratshukudu has secured a move to Croatia with Slaven Belupo, becoming their sixth European export in the last four seasons.

Ratshukudu, who turned 20 last month, was part of the Botswana national team at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and featured in their 1-0 defeat to Benin in the group stages.

“Losika joined Ubuntu almost three years ago after a chance conversation on the side of a field in Rayleigh, North Carolina between the Directors of Dream Academy and Ubuntu Football — a powerful reminder of how opportunity, partnership and faith can change a life,” read part of the club statement.

“Leaving home without family, adapting to new subjects in Grade 10, and learning a new language (isiXhosa) was no small challenge. Yet Losika’s character, humility and warmth quickly made him a favourite among players, staff and educators alike.

“He now leaves us with a Bachelor’s Pass, international experience, and a remarkable milestone — becoming our first Academy player to earn a Senior National Cap while still an Academy student. He also featured at the recent AFCON 2025 along with fellow graduate, Munashe Garananga [of Zimbabwe].”

Belupo are currently sixth in the Croatian top-flight after 27 games played this season.
