Kaizer Chiefs supporters took to social media to vent their frustration after Amakhosi were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday evening at the DHL Stadium.
An early penalty from Ibraheem Jabaar, followed by a stunning strike from Devin Titus inside the opening 25 minutes, proved decisive as the home side secured a 2-1 victory to advance to the next round.
The two sides met at the same stage of the competition last season, when Chiefs claimed a 3-1 win in a controversial quarter-final encounter.
This time, however, the controversy went the other way, with Amakhosi awarded a penalty that brought them back into the contest.

Despite the lifeline, Gavin Hunt’s men held their nerve to seal a famous win, dumping the defending champions out of the competition at the first hurdle, a result that left Chiefs fans deeply disappointed.
Many Kaizer Chiefs supporters flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to express their anger, with criticism directed at both the coaching staff and certain players.
One fan, @TheBlackPioneer, questioned the continued selection of Miguel in defence, writing: “As long as Miguel still plays in defence, we’re going to lose a lot of games. The guy can’t defend, can’t hold his line, makes risky passes that put the team under pressure, has zero football IQ and is just useless.”
Another supporter, @mabetie9405, felt the coaching staff underestimated their opponents: “Our coaches underestimated Stellenbosch and we paid the price. There was no need to change the previous starting XI in a knockout stage — one mistake and you’re out. Hopefully we learn from this going forward. Amakhosi asipheli moya.”

Meanwhile, @lucaskagiso lamented the tactical changes, saying: “Our luck has run dry. Even though we’ve been playing poorly and grinding out results, I don’t understand why the coaches made those changes. Why not stick with the same players? Less said about players like Shabalala.”
