’Derby’ between Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates postponed

Posted on February 4, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs’ Legends team were supposed to meet their Orlando Pirates counterparts at Ellis Park Stadium, but the game has been postponed.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates clash postponed

“Legends Derby Postponed. The organisers will advise on a new date soon,” Chiefs confirmed

“The winners of the match will face an international legends team in April, with the opportunity beckoning for Amakhosi to come up against a star-studded international team,” the initial statement read.

Chiefs to let Chislett go?

One player destined for the exit door is playmaker Ethan Chislett; the 27-year-old arrived from third-tier English side Port Vale on 1 July 2025 but has yet to make his debut. Just because a player has played in England doesn’t mean he’s good enough for the technical level required in South Africa’s top tier.

Kaizer Chiefs’ February fixtures come thick and fast

Chiefs have a busy schedule in the second month of 2026. They’ll be hoping that Rushwin Dortley plays some part. The 23-year-old has yet to feature in the 2025-26 campaign, but that hasn’t shown in recent weeks. The Glamour Boys are on a stunning run of six consecutive clean sheets across all competitions.
