Orlando Pirates to play Sundowns and Chiefs within 10 days

Posted on February 2, 2026

Orlando Pirates have confirmed a busy February schedule that will go a long way in shaping their Betway Premiership campaign.

Matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs are lined up within a 10-day period.

The Buccaneers step into February after a dominant 2-0 win over Magesi FC at the newly renamed Orlando Amstel Arena.

Yanela Mbuthuma and Relebohile Mofokeng were on target as the Buccaneers picked up their first league victory of the year and maintained their strong position near the top of the table.

ORLANDO PIRATES FEBRUARY FIXTURES

The Buccaneers begin the month away to AmaZulu FC on Tuesday, 03 February (19:30), before another trip on the road to face Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (Venda FC) on Saturday, 07 February (15:00).

They return home to host Marumo Gallants FC on Saturday, 14 February (15:00), before attention turns to a high-profile clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday, 18 February (19:30).

February ends with a Soweto Derby away to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, 28 February (15:30).

In the standings, Orlando Pirates sit second on 32 points, level with the defending champions and still holding a game in hand. Their league form has been built on consistency, with the side currently on a 12-match unbeaten run.

EARLY CUP SUCCESS AND QUALITY SIGNINGS

That consistency has already delivered silverware this season. Orlando Pirates defended their MTN8 title with a 3-0 extra-time win over Stellenbosch FC and closed out 2025 by lifting the Carling Knockout Cup at the expense of Marumo Gallants.

Recent additions such as Lebone Seema, Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi, and Yanela Mbuthuma have added balance to the squad under head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. February is set to provide a clearer picture of where the team stands.
