Substitutes: Bvuma, Msimango, Mako, Monyane, Mabaso, Sirino, Shabalala, Duba, Velebayi.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO MOVE TO SECOND PLACE?

Amakhosi head into the next CAF Confederation Cup outing with a clear opportunity in front of them. Ahead of Al-Masry’s meeting with Zamalek at 21:00, Amakhosi can move up to second place in Group D, having already navigated a mixed continental run that includes a 2–1 defeat to Al-Masry, a 1–1 draw with Zamalek, and a narrow 1–0 victory over ZESCO United last weekend.

Form, though, is firmly on Kaizer Chiefs’ side. They are on a three-match winning streak across all competitions and are yet to concede a goal in 2026.

Back-to-back 1–0 Betway Premiership wins over Golden Arrows and Marumo Gallants have lifted them into third place on the league table, while that same disciplined scoreline against ZESCO in Zambia has kept their African campaign alive.

ZESCO arrive under pressure and short on confidence. Their 2026 record stands at one win and two defeats in all competitions. A narrow 1–0 domestic victory over Kabwe Warriors provided brief relief, but losses to Nkana (2–1) and Kaizer Chiefs have underlined their struggles.

Their continental form has been even more concerning. ZESCO sit bottom of Group D after losing all three group matches. A 1–0 defeat to Zamalek was followed by a 3–2 loss to Al-Masry, before the 1–0 home defeat to Kaizer Chiefs left them chasing survival in the competition.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, continue to manage a growing injury list. Reeve Frosler has been ruled out for around six weeks after knee surgery, joining Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Thabo Cele and Bradley Cross on the sidelines.

George Matlou has returned to training but is not yet match-ready, while Rushwin Dortley and Fiacre Ntwari are edging closer to a return.
