Why Ouaddou Is ‘Not Worried’ After Pirates Drop Points

Posted on January 24, 2026

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says he’s not concerned about dropping points due to the performance of his side after the 0-0 draw against Sekhukhune United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides played to a goaless draw, in a result that sees Pirates remain second, level on points with Mamelodi Sundowns and with a game in hand over the reigning champions.

Babina Noko pulled off a solid, structured and disciplined defensive performance to stifle and frustrate the hosts in a scorching afternoon – but too missed out on potentially going one point off Pirates, if they had secured a victory.

“The players did well, in terms of intensity, creating chances but unfortunately this ball didn’t want to go inside the net, it’s football and to be honest I don’t have anything to reproach my players, they gave eveything, technically and tactically in point,” he told SuperSport TV.

“We played against a very good team, as well, of course we’re a bit dissapointed because we deserved to win that game – but we have to give credit to Sekhukhune as well about how they were organised, the team spirit as well.

“Im not worried, if we continue to play like that, keep being dynamic, we will keep winning games. It’s not easy to play the first game [after the break] but what I know is we did everything to win, the players went over the limit and today was just not our day, it’s football.”
