Mudau Opens Up On Pirates Rumours

Posted on January 24, 2026

Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender Khuliso Mudau has rubbished social media talk that he is Orlando Pirates bound in the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old right back, widely considered as one of the finest in his position in Africa and the number one right-back for the senior national team was linked with the Buccaneers earlier this month whilst in Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Fans were abuzz with the social media report but Mudau has quashed suggestions that he’s thinking or even in talks for a sensational move to their domestic rivals, with Monnapule Saleng having joined Sundowns from the opposite direction this month.

“I found out about that, I think one of my friends sent something like that where they said I’m going to Orlando Pirates, which I don’t even know anything [about], I’m focused on Mamelodi Sundowns,” he said on the club’s social media channels.

“I’m 100% here, my heart is here, I want to achieve things with the team, I want to help the team, I don’t know what’s the talks [about] and what they’re saying but I’m here 100%.”

Mudau has one five league titles, the African Football League, MTN8, Nedbank Cup and has amassed 170 appearances for Masandawana since his arrival from Black Leopards in 2020.
