Zesco United v Kaizer Chiefs: Date, Kickoff time, TV channel, Predicted 11

Posted on January 23, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs resume their CAF Confederation Cup journey against Zambia’s Zesco United this weekend.

Amakhosi travel to Zambia to play their third group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Going into the match, Chiefs will be boosted by their 1-0 win against Lamontville Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday night at FNB Stadium. Their form in Africa has been poor, collecting only a point from the opening two matches.

With four games still to play in the group stages of this season’s Confederation Cup, Chiefs sit third in Group D of the continental competition with one point.

When are Kaizer Chiefs playing Zesco?

The clash in Zambia kicks off on Sunday at 15:00 and will be broadcast live on SABC 2 in South Africa and SuperSport.

Zesco are at the bottom of the group and yet to collect any points after defeats to Al Masry and Zamalek, who occupy first and second places respectively.

Chiefs need nothing but a win to keep their chances of reaching the quarter-finals alive. A draw or defeat could see them having to need to win all their matches to have a chance of getting out of the group.

Back-to-back draws from Al Masry and Zamalek will be good for the Soweto giants if they don’t get six points against the Zambian side.

Here’s how Kaizer Chiefs will likely lineup against Zesco on Sunday: Petersen, McCarthy, Kwinika, Miguel, Solomons, Ndlovu, Maboe, Shabalala, Lilepo, Mmodi and Sa Silva.

Can Chiefs reach the next round of Confed Cup?
