Orlando Pirates confirm two player exits, Mofokeng chat persists

Posted on January 22, 2026

Orlando Pirates are continuing to shape their squad with a Betway Premiership title charge on their minds.

Orlando Pirates ship out Ndlozi and Luthuli

Betway Premiership title favourites Orlando Pirates have allowed Siyabonga Ndlozi and Sifiso Luthuli to join 15th-placed Magesi FC on loan. DDC star Ndlozi featured four times for the first team, but the most recent of those was in October. He was with Pretoria Callies from 2022 to 2024.

Chiefs close the gap to Orlando Pirates, Sekhukhune awaits

Chiefs clocked up an important win 1-0 against Golden Arrows after the long AFCON break. The result puts them third on the Betway Premiership, two points behind leaders Sundowns and a solitary point behind Pirates, although the Sea Robbers have two games in hand. Next up for the Buccaneers is a trip to Sekhukhune on Saturday, 24 January, with kickoff at 15:30.

What’s next for Relebohile Mofokeng?

Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Minnesota United and Russian side FC Akron have all been credited with an interest in the player. Mofokeng was forthright about the possibility of exploring his options. He has 19 goals and 25 assists from 106 Bucs appearances. Meanwhile, playmaker Patrick Maswanganyi has been unpredictable with his output at Pirates, sometimes sizzling but often disappointing. The undoubtedly gifted left-footer has featured nine times in the league out of a possible 12, chipping in with three goals and an assist. With a new signing, Andre de Jong, in the building, his game time might diminish further.
