Official: Chiefs Confirm First January Signing

Posted on January 22, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed their first signing in 2026, albeit for their DStv Diski Challenge squad, with Xhosa Manyana joining on loan from Cape Town City.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who is capable of playing across the pitch, is a junior international, and was part of the COSAFA-winning Amajita squad in 2024.

Last year, he spent six months in the United States, on loan at MLS side FC Cincinnati.

“We felt the need to augment our DDC squad for the latter part of the season, and we are delighted to bring in a player like Xhosa to supplement the talent we already have within our reserve team structure,” Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr told the club’s media department.

“We welcome Xhosa to Kaizer Chiefs and look forward to seeing the best f his undoubted abilities.”
