Sundowns first-team player signs new contract, agent confirms

Mamelodi Sundowns FC have reportedly reached an agreement to extend a defender’s contract at the club.

The Brazilians are undergoing a squad overhaul however one defender will rest peacefully knowing his immediate future is secured.

Sundowns have been busy at work in the January transfer window.

Masandawana have brought in some fresh faces in the form of Brayan Leon, Monnapule Saleng and Khulumane Ndamane.

In terms of outgoing players, Mosa Lebusa (permanent) and Kobamelo Kodisang (loan) have both been unveiled at Stellenbosch FC.

Thapelo Maseko has also sealed a loan move to Cyprus side AEL Limassol.

Defender extends contract at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the contract of left-back Divine Lunga.

The player’s agent Mike Makaab himself has confirmed the extension.

“I can tell you that Divine Lunga has signed a completely new contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, he’s definitely on the plans of the team going forward,” Mike Makaab told FARPost.

“That’s all I can tell you. I’ll leave contract details to Sundowns whenever they make the announcement.”

Lunga’s numbers at Downs

Since joining the club back in 2021, the Zimbabwean star has struggled to knuckle down a starting eleven spot at Chloorkop.

In total, Lunga has made 53 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns. He has one goal and one assist to his name at the club.

Just eight of them however have come this season. Despite that, the good news for him is that he’s still viewed as part of the plans at Chloorkop.
