Cypriot club AEL Limassol have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Sundowns for the loan signing of the 22-year-old attacker.
In a statement, AEL Limassol announced that they had secured Maseko on loan from Sundowns, confirming the move that had initially been described as a verbal agreement.

The Sebokeng-born winger prematurely left Sundowns’ camp in Polokwane last week, with the club finalising the last details of his temporary switch to Cyprus.
The move is seen as an opportunity for Maseko to secure regular playing time after struggling for consistency in a crowded Sundowns attacking setup.
Cyprus is becoming familiar territory for South African wide players. AEL Limassol already have Bafana Bafana winger Luther Singh on their books, while Mihlali Mayambela features for rivals Aris Limassol.
AEL Limassol currently sit seventh in the Cypriot First Division for the 2025/26 season, with 24 points from 17 matches. They trail leaders Omonia FC by a clear margin but remain safely above the relegation zone.

The form has been mixed, with two wins, a draw and two defeats in their last five outings, including a 2-0 away win over Akritas Chlorakas on January 17, 2026.
THAPELO MASEKO’S RAPID RISE
Maseko rose rapidly to prominence in 2023 after a standout campaign that saw him named Best Player and Top Goalscorer of the inaugural African Football League.
His performances earned him international recognition, and he went on to be part of South Africa’s squad that won bronze at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, played in early 2024.
Across his professional career, the former SuperSport United academy graduate has made 79 appearances, scoring seven goals and registering three assists.
His Sundowns spell produced 45 appearances, three goals and one assist, while his time at SuperSport United yielded 34 matches, four goals and two assists.
With Maseko’s loan move now confirmed, Sundowns’ winger options are reduced to Tashreeq Matthews (25), Kutlwano Letlaku (19), Siyabonga Mabena (18) and Monnapule Saleng (27) as the club continues to compete on multiple fronts this season.
