Every fixture and result in JANUARY

Posted on January 20, 2026

The 2025/26 Betway Premiership season broke for AFCON 205 on 7 December 2025, but is due to restart on Monday, 19 January 2026.

The early December break was to give Bafana Bafana – and it’s heavily local-based squad – time to prepare for AFCON 2025 which kicked off on 21 December.

Early exit

However, their 2-1 defeat in the Round of 16 against Cameroon saw Bafana Bafana eliminated from the tournament in Morocco.

That match took place on 4 January, meaning some players wouldn’t have kicked a ball in anger in over two weeks. Some, even longer.

The extra time off for players to recover from nagging injuries was welcomed by several PSL sides, none more so than Orlando Pirates who provided the vast majority of players in the Bafana Bafana squad.

However, the wait is now over.
