STELLENBOSCH FC TO ANNOUNCE ORLANDO PIRATES AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STARS
According to Diski Times’ leading reporter Sinethemba Makonco, Mabasa and Kodisang have joined Stellenbosch on loan until the end of the season.
Additionally, Lebusa has signed a permanent deal, completing a triple signing.
TSHEGOFATSO MABASA
Despite being a crowd favourite with high goal-scoring quality, Mabasa’s time at Orlando Pirates this season was marked by limited playing time, with only nine appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou told the media Mabasa’s challenge is a misfit with the French-Moroccan coach’s playing model with pressing strikers.
Mabasa, who hails from Botshabelo in the Free State, has scored 50 goals in 140 matches for Orlando Pirates across all competitions. This tally makes him the club’s second-highest goalscorer in the PSL era, just behind club legend Benedict Vilakazi, who holds the record with 58 goals.
MOSA LEBUSA
The 33-year-old from Welkom, Free State, enjoyed a highly successful seven-year tenure at Sundowns after joining from Ajax Cape Town in 2018.
The left-footed central defender was key in one of the club’s most dominant eras. During his time with Kabo Yellow, he made 207 appearances across various competitions, contributing nine goals and four assists. Lebusa became a serial winner with the team, securing an impressive seven consecutive league titles, the Telkom Knockout in the 2019/20 season, and the Carling Black Label Cup in 2022
KOBAMELO KODISANG
Kodisang, set to reunite with coach Hunt since the Bidvest Wits days, returns to Mzansi after spending the first half of the season on loan at Avs FS in Portugal, scoring one goal in five games.
The former Platinum Stars winger was meant to stay with Avs until the end of the season, but the club decided on an early termination of the loan deal.
