Rulani Suffers First Defeat In Ligue 1

MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena has put to rest rumours suggesting that he may be returning to coach in South Africa.

Mokwena has been doing very well in the Algerian Ligue 1, with his side currently top of the log with 36 points from 15 matches, 12 points from closest challenger CR Belouizdad.

Alger are also in third place in Group C of the CAF Champions League with a point from two matches.

The 39-year-old has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, among other South African clubs, but he insisted that if anything he’s having talks with his principals about the extension of his stay at the Algerian side.

“No, no, no,” he told Andile Ncube on Sports Night Amplified when asked if there’s a conversation of him coming to South Africa for anyone.

“I’m very happy here. I’ve got a contract here and I’m very, very happy here.

“No, In fact, the conversations I’m having are with MC Alger for a new contract and to extend my stay here. Those are the only conversations that are taking place.”
