Kaizer Chiefs to say goodbye to these players?

Posted on January 16, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs have at least seven players whose contracts expire at the end of the season.

With just five months remaining, it seems unlikely that all of these players will be retained by Amakhosi.

The players whose contracts are ending include Brandon Petersen, Gaston Sirino, Bruce Bvuma, Dillan Solomons, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and Pule Mmodi.

Petersen and Mthethwa have impressed this season, making it more likely that the duo will extend their stay at Naturena. Fierce Ntwari has been linked with a move away from Chiefs, which could lead the club to retain Bvuma as a second or third-choice keeper for the next season.

As for which three Kaizer Chiefs players are likely to leave, Sirino, Solomons, and Ngcobo might be on their way out of Naturena. Despite starting the season strongly, Ngcobo has seen a decline in his performance and could end up without a club.

Sirino, on the other hand, has primarily been used as a substitute. Given his age, he may not receive a new contract if he continues to have limited playing time in the second half of the season.

Solomons initially struggled but has taken his chance in the CAF Confederation Cup and is now the first-choice right-back, ahead of Reeve Frosler and Thabiso Monyane. If he fails to maintain his form and finds himself on the bench, he could also be one of the players leaving Kaizer Chiefs.

Mmodi has worked hard but his end product has been poor. Should Chiefs sign a quality winger, then Mmodi must look for another team.

Kaizer Chiefs not extending players contracts for now…

According to Soccer Laduma, the Soweto giants are not rushing to provide new contracts to these players.

“No one is signing those guys. That’s why even now, we are in no hurry. We are not scared to lose anyone. It’s small teams that have to do that. No one can even afford those salaries. There’s no worry. That stuff can be sorted out. The club also has to decide at the end of the season if we need all of them,” the informer revealed to the publication.
