Zwane – What I Told Moremi At AmaZulu

Posted on January 13, 2026

AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has shared what he said to his former player Tshepang Moremi during their time together before the player’s move to Orlando Pirates.

The 25-year-old joined the Buccaneers at the start of the season after spending time at AmaZulu, where he had been since 2018 and rose through the club’s junior ranks.

Having worked with Moremi last season, Zwane revealed that he warned the player he would stay on his case if he truly wanted to make it big in football.

He believes they prepared him well to handle the demands of playing for a big club like Orlando Pirates and for Bafana Bafana.

“I told him ‘Listen; if you wanna make it big, I’m going to be on your case. As to whether you like it or not, you might not see it now but later you will realise why I was on your case’,” Zwane told iDiski Times.

“I think it’s working for him now, because mentally we prepared him for the demands of playing for a big team like Orlando Pirates.

“We’re happy that he’s doing wonders, doing very well for himself. He’s growing as a player and for him to be part of the national team regularly, is very key.

“It’s going to encourage many other players that he left behind, that there is hope, when you are focused, when you’re determined, when you’re disciplined. When you’re committed to the game? It’s bound to reward you… and as much as he still has a long way to go, he’s only 25 if I’m not mistaken.

“So, we wish him well, we want him to succeed at all costs, as it will open doors for many other players. You know the policy of this club; AmaZulu… it’s to not stand in the way of any player who wants to pursue their career elsewhere. As long as the club gets what’s due to them because we’re in the business of football at the end of the day.”
