Two Chiefs players set to leave, one ‘in advanced talks’ with PSL side

Posted on January 11, 2026

Two Kaizer Chiefs first-team attackers look set to leave the club in the ongoing January transfer window.

Many have been expecting fireworks from the Glamour Boys this month.

Instead it’s been Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates stealing the transfer headlines so far.

Now, some movement appears to be looming at Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs strikers heading out of Naturena

Struggling Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris looks set to join Stellenbosch FC.

Newly appointed head coach Gavin Hunt is a big fan of Morris, and reports suggest the experienced coach is working on luring the powerful striker to the Cape.

According to reputable local publication FARPost, talks are at an advanced stage!

“Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris is on the verge of a move to Stellenbosch FC…. Talks to move Morris to the Winelands side are at an advanced stage,” the publication reported.

Furthermore, rising star Donay Jansen looks set to leave the club in search of game-time.

“Chiefs’ Donay Jansen looks set to make a move in January,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

Jansen is expected to leave on loan. His agent Glyn Binkin has publicly confirmed that his client wants a loan move. The 22-year-old striker has a long-term contract at Naturena and appears to be part of the club’s future plans.

Morris’ disappointing time at Naturena

Tashreeq Morris joined Kaizer Chiefs from SuperSport United at the begining of 2025.

Morris was in decent form at Matsatsansta, scoring two goals in 10 appearances for the club. His performance particularly against Chiefs where he scored the winning goal for United was enough to seal him a dream move to Naturena.

The 31-year-old striker enjoyed good game-time in his first six months at the club. However, the start of the new season in August painted a completely different picture.

Incredibly, Morris featured for just ONE minute for Kaizer Chiefs this season. One minute in a cup game against Stellenbosch where he was brought on in the dying minutes just before a penalty shootout.Unfortunately for him, he went on to miss his penalty kick.

He’ll undoubtedly be looking to put this chapter behind him. Now, a reunion with a coach who truly believes in him looms.

Competition from the likes of Khanyisa Mayo, Etioso Ighodaro and Flavio Silva made Morris’ quest for game-time increasingly challenging.
