No Bafana In AFCON 2025 Group Stage Best XI

CAF has released the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage best 11 which includes no Bafana Bafana players.

South Africa has not had the best of starts at the continental tournament after two narrow wins and a defeat, shipping in four goals and scoring five as they finished second in Group B behind Egypt.

Hugo Broosโ€™s charges opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over Angola but fell to a 1-0 defeat to Egypt before beating neighbours Zimbabwe 3-2 which summed up what has been an underwhelming performance from the last editionโ€™s bronze medallists.

On Friday morning, CAF confirmed the best starting 11 players in the group stage with hosts Morocco and Nigeria having two representatives each.

Brahim Diaz and Noussair Mazraoui have made the cut for the hosts while Ademola Lookman and head coach Eric Chelle feature for the Super Eagles after leading his charges to three wins out of three.
