Zimbabwe and Marumo Gallants winger Daniel Msendami has addressed the speculation around interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The 25-year-old has long been touted to make a switch to the Soweto giants, even during his time in Botswana where former Jwaneng Galaxy head coach Morena Ramoreboli hailed him as ‘the next Khama Billiat’ before he made a surprise switch to Gallants.
He’s emerged as one of the key figures at the club, who recently finished runners-up to Pirates in the Carling Knockout and, with the January window fast approaching, interest will likely be brewing again for the winger who featured in all three Group B games at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
“We play to get to top league, to play for big teams. I’ll definitely keep on pushing, push very hard and hope that as time passes I can get an offer to get to a higher level and showcase my talent,” he said when asked by iDiski Times in the mixed zone about the interest.
“For me – the way I heard it was concrete [the interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates] but I didn’t put it in mind, because if they were really interested him me, they were going to take me…
“So, I’ll just keep on pushing, go where I’m needed and push very hard to score more goals in the league and continue playing like this. My contract is expiring soon but I’m not yet clear on what’s happening, I’ll just keep on pushing.”
Msendami has scored four goals with three assists and is one game short of his 50-game milestone for Gallants since his arrival in July 2024.
