Kaizer Chiefs are linked with 10 players. This list includes outbound Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns players.
However, many of these ‘linked’ players are just rumours. So, let’s take a look at who Chiefs are likely to sign as well as which links are just rumours.
FULL LIST OF PLAYERS LINKED TO CHIEFS
- Stanley Nwabali
- Feisel Salum
- Luke Baartman
- Asanele Velebayi
- Lebogang Phiri
- Percy Tau
- Fiston Mayele
- Zakhele Lepasa
- Dzenan Zajmovic
- Etiosa Ighodaro
PLAYERS CHIEFS COULD SIGN
Chiefs are closing in on a pair of signings.
Both Velebayi and Baartman have agreed to personal terms with Chiefs.
However, there is an ongoing legal dispute over their respective contracts with Cape Town Spurs. So, if it is resolved, Amakhosi will sign both players.
Meanwhile, Sundowns striker Ighodaro is on Chiefs radar and he is aware of their interest. He is currently training alone as he and The Brazilians contemplate his future with Amakhosi closely monitoring the situation. Additionally, as reported on The South African, Nasreddine Nabi has expressed an interest in signing Zajmovic if the move is possible.
Finally, Amakhosi have their best chance of signing Nwabali yet. This is because Chippa United are open to selling the Nigerian goalkeeper.
WHO AMAKHOSI ARE UNLIKELY TO SIGN
These are the players linked to Chiefs that are just rumours – players they will not be signing.
As usual, the rumour mill is rife with rumours over players ‘linked’ to Amakhosi. However, most of these deals do not materialise. This is because most of them are just that – rumours.
Mayele’s brother has shut down rumours linking him to Chiefs. Meanwhile, Amakhosi have not expressed any interest in signing Tau or Lepasa. Also, talks have gone quite over Salum and Phiri. Therefore, these moves are both also unlikely.
