While They’re Sleeping, We Must Capitalise – Makhaula

Posted on February 17, 2026

Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula says that while Mamelodi Sundowns remain off form, they must capitalise on it.

The Buccaneers will take on Masandawana on Wednesday, 18 February, in a crucial Betway Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium.

This will be a top-of-the-table clash, as the Sea Robbers sit at the top with 38 points after 16 matches, while Bafana Ba Style have accumulated 32 points from 15 matches.

Makhaula admitted that Masandawana haven’t been at their best this season, adding that all clubs in the league, including themselves, have to capitalise on that.

“Yes, they are not playing well at the moment but it’s not like they are losing, they are winning,” said Makhaula.

“Once they find their form, then it becomes difficult. While they are still sleeping, we must wake up.

“If you don’t wake up while they are still sleeping it’s gonna be difficult because they haven’t found their momentum, you have to capitalise, not only Pirates all 15 teams.”
