Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has confirmed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi will return to South Africa this week and be back on the sidelines for their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Amakhosi started the season with three wins out of three, sitting in second place behind Sekhukhune United.
The’ve done so, without Nabi on the sidelines after he had to travel to his home country after his wife was involved in a car accident.
But Youssef confirmed the Tunisian mentor will return to Naturena this week.
“Coach Nabi will be with us this week, to prepare the game against Sundowns,” he stated.
Youssef was also asked about the club’s target for this campaign and insisted although they’ve set themselves internal targets, Amakhosi are in the league to win it.
“We have our target inside the team between the players and the technical staff,” he added.
“And it’s written in our meeting room inside the village, you can ask about it. We know what we need to do, and we keep it between us.
“For us, we take it game by game, we don’t think about nothing, we don’t have any pressure.
“[But] for sure, Kaizer Chiefs is one of the biggest teams in South Africa – if we play in the league, we play to win the league.”
Chiefs next game is this coming Wednesday, 27 August, when they will host reigning champions Sundowns at FNB Stadium.
