Kaizer Chiefs are victims of their own success this season as continental matches stack up on the schedule.
CAF Confederation Cup matches are coming thick and fast, and that complicates their Betway Premiership campaign.
Here’s a closer look.
Kaizer Chiefs’ fixtures are disrupted by Caf participation
Next up for the Phefeni Glamour Boys is a string of Caf commitments. That includes matches away to Al Masry (Sun, 23 Nov) and home against Zamalek (Sat, 29 Nov). Upcoming Betway Premiership matches against Magesi and Golden Arrows have been postponed, making a trip to Chippa on 3 December their next league outing. There’s a whopping 53 days to wait until their next assignment, a trip to Zesco United on 25 January, 2026 in the Confederation Cup. The Glamour Boys have won their last two league matches and are unbeaten in five. Flavio Silva seems to have found his feet, too. The Portuguese-born forward scored four goals in five league outings.
Best Kaizer Chiefs XI with returning stars Msimango, Dortley
Meanwhile, we’ve taken a look at the best possible current Chiefs XI based on form and ability. What do you think? This combination would see Dortley shifted to a narrow left-back role. The likes of Siphesihle Ndlovu, Mfundo Vilakazi, Ashley du Preez and Gaston Sirino would have to be content with a place on the bench. Mdu Shabalala is in the same boat. What does your best XI look like?
Petersen; Monyane, Msimango, Miguel, Dortley; Cele, Mthethwa; Lilepo, Ngcobo, Mmodi; Silva.
