When are Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns in action midweek?

Posted on January 27, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will be in midweek action as they look to build momentum ahead of their respective CAF assignments this weekend.

The two Betway Premiership giants are competing in continental football, with Chiefs involved in the CAF Confederation Cup and Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.

Following a successful trip to Zambia, Amakhosi return to domestic duty with a league clash against Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening (28 January) at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung.

Chiefs opened their 2026 league campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium and will now reach the halfway mark of their season. The Glamour Boys have played 14 matches, collected 27 points and currently sit third on the Premiership standings. Gallants, meanwhile, occupy 12th place with 15 points from 15 matches.

Amakhosi will be eager to secure maximum points as they look to reach the 30-point mark and solidify their position in the top three.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30 at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Rocklands, Mangaung.

Chiefs and Sundowns in action midweek

Elsewhere, Mamelodi Sundowns travel to Polokwane to face Sekhukhune United on Tuesday evening (27 January). Masandawana currently sit at the summit of the table, and a victory over Babina Noko would see them move three points clear of Orlando Pirates, who still have two games in hand.

After their encounter with Sekhukhune, Sundowns will face a three-week wait before their next league fixture.

If both Sundowns and Chiefs win their games, then Orlando Pirates could drop to third on the table. A win for Amakhosi and defeat for Masadawana will see the Glamour Boys topping the log for the first time this season.
