What Ouaddou Told Us Before Magesi Clash – Makhaula

Posted on February 2, 2026

Orlando Pirates tough tackling midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula has revealed what coach Abdeslam Ouaddou told them prior to the Magesi FC clash while paying tribute to the club’s fans.

The Buccaneers moved level on points (32) with Mamelodi Sundowns at the summit of the Betway Premiership standings after a spirited 2-0 win at the Orlando Amstel Arena courtesy of goals from Yanela Mbuthuma and Relebohile Mofokeng.

‘Cash’ revealed that the coach told them to keep possession which in turn aided them to dominate the midfield and unlocked Dikwena Tsa Meetse’s low block.

“The coach told us to keep the ball and that’s what we did,” he told OP TV.

“We won each and every second ball and I think by dominating the middle field and giving Rele [Relebohile Mofokeng] space and [Oswin] Appollis that makes things easier.

“I think the fans we really appreciate this and without them I don’t think anything is possible because when they come in numbers we need to give them a good show.

“Today [Saturday], I think we showed them that we are there. Bit-by-bit, all I can say to them, they must be patient with us even when things they are not going our way.

“Now, it’s up to us to make sure that we always collect the three points especially at home.”
