Was Saleng Offside In Orbit Win? Hlungwani Delivers Verdict

Posted on October 21, 2025

Monnapule Saleng should have been flagged offside after scoring Orbit College’s winner against Richards Bay, according to former PSL referee Victor Hlungwani.

The on-loan Orlando Pirates attacker finally got off the mark for the Betway Premiership rookies by scoring the second goal in their 2-1 win over the Natal Rich Boyz on Friday evening.

Despite Orbit walking away with maximum points on the night, Hlungwani reckons that the goal should not have been allowed to stand.

“When we draw the line, it will tell us as whether he was nearer to the opponent’s goal line than both the second last opponent and the ball,” he said on Soccerzone.

“You can see that he’s nearer to the opponent’s goal line with one opponent, therefore offside.

“Incorrect decision.”
