Two-Goal Hero Grobler Takes Sly Dig At Chiefs

Posted on September 17, 2025

Sekhukhune United striker Bradley Grobler has admitted that it felt nice scoring against Kaizer Chiefs after what he labelled as “the team that told me I was old and past my prime”.

Grobler stepped up with a huge performance scoring twice and providing a further assist as Babina Noko thumped Amakhosi 3-1 at FNB Stadium to move top of the Betway Premiership standings while Amakhosi stayed third behind Mamelodi Sundowns in second.

The 37-year-old veteran marksman picked up the Man of the Match on the evening further boasting how it felt to score against Chiefs at the Calabash.

“It’s feels great I gotta be honest. I haven’t trained in the last four days. I’ve had throat infection; chest infection and I arrived at camp late yesterday and played,” he told SuperSport TV in his post-match interview.

“Sometimes it’s nice scoring against teams that told you that four, five, six years ago you were old and past your prime so it’s good to be scoring against these teams.

“I think tonight was a big performance. A performance that probably gonna make people take us a bit more serious but we don’t want to put that pressure on ourselves. Obviously, we want to go on and win every game.

“We’d like to fight for the league and tonight I think a big stepping stone even though we’ve got a long way to go.

“There’s nothing against the team [Chiefs], like I said, the nice thing it’s a team that six, seven years ago told me I was old and past my prime, I must be honest that feels nice [to score against them].”

For Grobler, he made it 123 goals in all competitions and a 102 in the league, while scoring nine league goals and 12 in all competitions against the Glamour Boys.
