TWO games in FOUR days

Posted on October 20, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs face a brand new week with two home games in four days.

Following a decent 0-0 away draw against AS Simba in Lubumbashi in the CAF Confederation Cup, Amakhosi now turn their focus back to domestic business.

Siwelele FC will make the trip to the FNB Stadium on Wednesday night at 19:30 in the Betway Premiership, before the CAF return leg on Saturday afternoon at 15:00 at the Dobsonville Stadium.

SIWELELE FC AND AS SIMBA TO VISIT KAIZER CHIEFS

Before the African business this weekend, attention switches to the league, the bread and butter. The Phefeni Glamour boys are in fourth on the log, six points off leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, with two games in hand. Their record so far shows four wins, three draws, and just one defeat from eight games, scoring eight and conceding five.

The visitors, Siwelele FC, have yet to enjoy football this season. They’re 14th in the standings, with only seven points from nine matches, scoring four and conceding ten. Lehlohonolo Seema’s side will need to spring a surprise to get a result at Soccer City.

OLD BOYS RETURN

There’s an extra narrative. The Kaizer Chiefs have two players on loan at Siwelele: Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane, whose eligibility will depend on the loan agreement between the clubs.

In addition, Siwelele’s travelling squad could include three familiar faces: former Amakhosi men Samir Nurković, Tebogo Potsane, and Christian Saile.

Meanwhile, the Naturena medical room is overcrowded, with a reported ten players sidelined: George Matlou, Thabiso Monyane, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Bontle Molefe, Given Msimango, Rushin Dortley, Lebohang Maboe, Etiosa Ighodaro, and Nkanyiso Shinga.

After the Siwelele test, the focus swings back to Africa. AS Simba arrive on Saturday for the second leg of the Confederation Cup tie. Coach Khali Ben Youssef’s side need just a 1-0 win to advance to the group stage after the goalless first leg. Another 0-0 would mean penalties , something the Soweto giants have already faced twice this season, beating Kabuscorp in the qualifiers but losing to Stellenbosch FC in the Carling Knockout.
