Tso Praises Pirates Trio After Arrows Trouncing
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Benedict Vilakazi had nothing but praise for Thalente Mbatha, Yanela Mbuthuma and Relebohile Mofokeng.

The Buccaneers hammered Golden Arrows 3-1 to leapfrog rivals Kaizer Chirfs into second spot with Mbatha coming on for the injured Sihle Nduli, while Mbuthuma replaced Evidence Makgopa and Mofokeng for Tshepang Moremi.

All three had a contribution in some of the goals with Mbatha starting the move for the second goal which was scored by Mbuthuma who completed a brace with a late winner from a stunning Mofokeng pass.

‘Tso’ said Mbatha gave Pirates stability in the midfield while doing the hardest work on the pitch.

“Mbatha in that midfield, wow! said Tso on iDiski TV.

“Tonight, [Wednesday] if you can watch the game, don’t look at the face of who is collecting the ball from the back, who is making everyone play. Do not look at that face, look at the player himself, you’ll say that’s not Mbatha.

“He played very well he gave Pirates stability in that central midfield, he was collecting the ball from the defence, turning and making everyone play. Even the second goal he was the one who initiated. He got the ball in the midfield and then he forced his way directly to the defence and then he played a split pass to Tito [Patrick Maswanganyi], Tito then laid it to Mbuthuma and Mbuthuma…”

With Mbuthuma the former Buccaneers captain said what impressed him the most about the 23-year-old was his positioning.

“We spoke about Mbuthuma when he was playing in the national team that he is there he is available,” added Tso.

“He did well he was always in that box because even his second goal was because he was there. This is the one thing I always say, you know that you are the only striker in the team, so if there is any action that needs to happen in that box you should be there. And that’s what Mbuthuma did tonight he was there.”

Tso reserved his last reverence for winger Mofokeng whose pinpoint pass to Mbuthuma was one of the most talked about actions from the game saying the 21-year-old keeps proving why he is nicknamed the ‘King of ama2K’.

“You know that boy when he comes in, I think the whole stadium was supposed to stand from the way they cheered,” continued Tso.

“That pass, no man, I couldn’t sit when I saw that pass. This boy is something else. You know he delayed with the ball waiting for Mbuthuma to make a run and when Mbuthuma made that run, he chipped it to Mbuthuma and I stood up and said it’s finished. That’s the only player they call the king.”
