Tso Makes Bullish Pirates Claim

Posted on November 30, 2025

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Benedict Tso Vilakazi has made a bullish claim about his former side saying the league title is theirs to take this season.

Pirates haven’t won the league since 2012 and have only finished second for the last three seasons in a row behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Buccaneers have, however been in fine form this season in the league so far under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou though they endured a shaky start.

They defeated Chippa United 2-0 in midweek and beat Richards Bay by the same scoreline on Sunday to overtake Sundowns at the top of the Betway Premiership log.

And the former Pirates captain believes the title race is now in the Buccaneers grasp.

“You know when a train is approaching you can hear it coming from far,” said Tso on iDiski TV.

“I’m saying the train is coming, so those who have tickets must get ready to get on the train. The league is there for the taking.

“Now we are going to close the league, it’s no more open. There is no one who is going to stop us now.”
