Top defender to return to action after a year

Orlando Pirates are set to welcome their top defender, Olisa Ndah, after nearly 12 months out of action.

The 27-year-old Nigerian has been training with a team for weeks and is expected to be in the team to play Orbit College on Tuesday.

Ndah last featured for the Buccaneers in September 2024 after picking up a tibia and fibula fracture, which ruled him out for the rest of the season. With captain Nkosinathi Sibisi still out, the Nigerian defender could make a surprise appearance at the Orlando Stadium.

Who will start for Orlando Pirates?

Deano van Rooyen took no part in Saturday’s MTN8 match against Mamelodi Sundowns following the injury he sustained against Stellenbosch. Kamogelo Sebelebele or Bandile Shandu are likely to start at right-back.

In the middle of the park, Sipho Mbule is set to marshal the midfield alongside Thalente Mbatha but Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou could give Sihle Nduli another run.

Upfront, expect Relebohile Mofokeng, Oswin Appollis and Tshegofatso Mabasa to start. With just one win from their opening three league games, the Buccaneers will look to bag all three points and chase the leading pack.

Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng, who’s on loan to Orbit College, will not play against his former side on Tuesday.

Can Pirates get another win?
