Tinkler Reacts To Four Bafana Call-Ups

Posted on September 26, 2025

Sekhukhune United coach Eric Tinkler says he is pleased to have four of his players get the nod for the senior national team.

Goalkeeper Ronaldo Leaner, defender Vuyo Letlapa, midfielder Siphesihle Mkhize and winger Keletso Makgalwa were announced in the Bafana preliminary squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda next month.

Leaner made the final cut and debut in Bafana’s international friendlies in June this year, Letlapa has been part of the Bafana COSAFA squad, while Mkhize and Makgalwa are yet to be part of a Bafana camp.

Tinkler admitted he is pleased to see his players in the prelim squad and added it would be even better if one of them made the final cut.

“Yeah, it’s good to have players in that preliminary group,” said Tinkler.

“You know, let’s see if any of them actually end up making that final squad which would be great for the club.”

Sekhukhune extended their lead at the top of the Betway Premiership log despite dropping two points against Chippa United after Mamelodi Sundowns lost to Golden Arrows – Babina Noko sit on 20 points after eight games, while Sundowns are on 18 after nine.
