Tinkler Makes Sundowns Admission – iDiski Times

Posted on January 28, 2026

Having contained Mamelodi Sundowns for 90 minutes, Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has admitted that the opposition’s quality off the bench got them the win.

Having not picked up a single win against Masandawna in five previous clashes, Tinkler and his charges were hoping to cause a rare upset, but the Tshwane giants displayed their quality to come away with the maximum points.

Tinkler was pleased with how they were able to keep the visitors at bay but simultaneously admitted injuries forced him to shuffle his pack which ultimately allowed Sundowns to take advantage.

“The quality they have they brought off the bench. We manage to contain them for 90 minutes but yeah, added time one mistake and we got punished,” he said on SuperSport TV.

“And then obviously then the second one really doesn’t count because we have to open ourselves to it to try to attack again to equalise and we get caught on the counter.

“Like I said, you cannot deny the quality that Sundowns have.”
