Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC are among the 10 clubs nominated for the Club of the Year by the Confederation of African Football.
After announcing the nominees for the women’s awards on Monday, CAF have now started to unveil the shortlist for the men’s awards.
The first category released on Wednesday was the Club of the Year shortlist, with South Africa having more nominees than any other nation.
CAF Champions League runners-up Sundowns are nominated alongside semi-finalists Pirates, while Stellenbosch were also rewarded for their run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.
The three SA teams will have to fend off competition from CAFCL winners Pyramids, who also claimed the CAF Super Cup last week, CR Belouizdad, CS Constantine, RS Berkane, Al Hilal and Simba SC.
In the second category of the day, Bafana Bafana were shortlist as one of the 10 National Teams of the Year after their fine exploits at in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
