Kaizer Chiefs face the January transfer window with transfer decisions ahead. The likely exits may be reminiscent of last season.
In January 2025, Mduduzi Mdantsane was loaned to Richards Bay FC due to limited game time. In the same window, Christian Saile was sold to SuperSport United before it was re-named Siwelele FC.
STRUGGLING PLAYERS TO LEAVE AMAKHOSI NEXT MONTH?
This season, four names are reportedly on the list of potential departures. Ethan Chislett, Nkanyisa Shinga, Fiacre Ntwari, and Tashreeq Morris are all expected to exit.
Chislett was signed in July as a potential marquee deal. Unfortunately, He has struggled to adapt to the pace, physicality, and technical demands of the league. Five months came and went without a debut.
Luke Baartman, who joined a month later, has already stepped into the attacking midfield role Chislett was meant to occupy. This fact further pushes Chislett to the Naturena gate.
Left-back Nkanyisa Shinga is in a similar situation. He arrived from Portugal’s FC Alverca with high expectations. Yet, he has not featured, despite Paseka Mako’s inconsistent fitness in the same playing position. Moves appear as the most sensible solutions for both Chislett and Shinga.
Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, signed from TS Galaxy, has fallen out of favour. The Rwandan controversially refused to be substituted in the Carling Knockout against Stellenbosch FC. With trust broken between player and club, a departure seems likely.
Tashreeq Morris is another candidate for a January exit. The arrival of Etiosa Ighodaro, who has scored early and impressed the coaching staff, has pushed Morris down the pecking order behind Flavio Silva. After 11 appearances without a goal, a move away could benefit both player and club.
KAIZER CHIEFS PLAYERS ALREADY ON LOAN
Happy Mashiane and Samkelo Zwane already out on loan. This means Kaizer Chiefs can only send three more players on temporary deals under PSL rules. Managing the squad carefully will be crucial as Amakhosi prepare for the second half of the season.
