Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng reveals he is a father

Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs lock horns at the FNB Stadium on Saturday with three points and bragging rights up for grabs.

This is the first time the two Soweto giants have met this season. Their last encounter was back in May last year, where Amakhosi won 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup final.

The Buccaneers will go all out looking for three points as they target the top spot in the Betway Premiership. Chiefs know that a win against their rivals will bring them back into contention and close the gap to just five points plus a game in hand.

On paper, the Sea Robbers are favourites coming into the clash, having not lost to the Glamour Boys in their previous four league meetings.

Which three Pirates players will trouble Chiefs

Andre de Jong

The New Zealand international has struggled to click since joining the Buccaneers in January. He could very well be the difference on Saturday, given how he performed against Amakhosi during his Stellenbosch days.

Relebohile Mofokeng

The 21-year-old winger has been relatively quiet in his last two games, given how exposive he started 2026.

The Pirates star scored the winner in their last league encounter, and it was his very first goal against Chiefs. If Mofokeng is given space, he will take his chances and bury Amakhosi’s title chances.

Evidence Makgopa

Ngwana Sesi has scored in two consecutive derby matches and he will be eager to play against Chiefs. He hasn’t featured much in previous matches, with Abdeslam Ouaddou preferring Yanela Mbuthuma upfront.

Against Chiefs, Pirates will need to play Makgopa if they are to get a win. The tall striker has troubled the Amakhosi defence and has a knack for scoring crucial goals in the derby.

Which players will make a difference for Pirates on Saturday?
