Orlando Pirates winger Kamogelo Sebelebele has been cooking since he arrived in Soweto from TS Galaxy.
The 23-year-old has made an electric start, and suddenly he’s looking like the man the Sea Robbers can count on in the big moments.
The Tembisa-born player has scored no fewer than three goals in three consecutive matches to become an instant fan-favourite.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS NIGHTMARE
Hero for Orlando Pirates against Mamelodi Sundowns
Sebelebele’s latest strike came in the MTN8 semi-final second leg against Kabo Yellow. The Buccaneers were chasing the game in Tshwane, but Sebelebele’s goal pulled them level before they went on to win 4-1 on penalties.
That strike followed his first-leg goal and another in the league, making it three on the bounce, plus two Man of the Match awards.
Credit to Orlando Pirates teammates
After the final whistle, Sebelebele made sure to credit his teammates for helping him shine. “We started slow but regrouped at half-time.
“The guys who came off the bench gave us energy. We’re a team whether it’s on or off the pitch,” he said. His words reflect the togetherness in the Orlando Pirates camp, which has carried them to a fourth straight Wafa Wafa final.
Hunger for his first gold medal with Orlando Pirates
Sebelebele said: “I need a gold medal, obviously. And we’re going to make the fans happy because they always come in numbers. We always have to make them proud.”
