Former Orlando Pirates striker Phumudzo Manenzhe has revealed which three players impressed him during the Buccaneers’ pre-season tour of Spain.
‘The Bold’ and his SuperSport TV colleague Thomas Mlambo travelled along with Pirates to Spain and broadcast all four games of Bucs’ pre-season.
They finished the tour with a 2-0 win over Granada, after back-to-back draws with Las Palmas (0-0) and Pafos (1-1) and a 2-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
However, Manenzhe believes goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla, midfielder Cemran Damsin as well as new signing Sipho Mbule stood out for the Sea Robbers.
“If you ask me for players that impressed me, it’s definitely Dladla in goal,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“I think what a find for Orlando Pirates, Dladla is excellent in terms of ball distribution. He progresses the ball very well.
“Another one is Camren Damsin in that midfield in the eight role – I think those two youngsters have really stood out for me after given an opportunity by the new head coach and really took it with both hands.
“The other one is Master Chef, Sipho Mbule. He always looks like he has all the time in the world when he’s in possession of the ball.
