Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Bennet Mokoena has revealed his short-term goals and ambitions after making first team debut.
Mokoena’s first-team appearance came on 24 September in the Betway Premiership against Golden Arrows. The 18-year-old was introduced by coach Miguel Cardoso in the match, which Sundowns lost 1-0.
This came on the back of his impressive performances for the reserve squad. And when he isn’t playing for the senior side, Mokoena continues to feature for the reserve team.
He has stated that his short-term goals include earning more playing time with the first team and helping them secure trophies before going overseas.
“Obviously, I want to play for the first team,” said Mokoena.
“I want to win trophies with them before heading overseas.”
Mokoena also expressed his dream of representing Bafana Bafana, confident that the opportunity will arise for him in the future.
“National team is another [dream] I have, I want to represent it. But I know time will come for that.”
