Sundowns & MC Alger Starting XIs Confirmed

Posted on February 14, 2026

Mamelodi Sundowns and Mouloudia Club d’Alger have announced their starting XIs for the highly-anticipated clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium this afternoon.

Sundowns come to this game with one thing in mind, a win after only collecting six points in five games and sitting in third place in their CAF Champions League group.

Meanwhile MC Alger are in a better situation and only need a draw to secure their quarter-final spot. After losing in the final last season, Sundowns were expected to go far in this competition once again, but their journey could already end today.

They had a difficult campaign, winning against FC St Eloi Lupopo, playing back-to-back draws against MC Alger away from home and a 2-2 draw with Al Hilal SC at home, then losing at Hilal before sharing the spoils with Lupopo in Lubumbashi last week.

Mokwena’s side were written off by many after a difficult start where they lost two and drew one in the first three games before collecting back-to-back wins against Lupopo and Al Hilal.

  • It means Sundowns must win to secure a spot in the quarter-finals, while MC Alger are through with a draw. To finish top of the table, they need to win and hope Lupopo beat Al Hilal or hold them into a draw.

Here is how they line up:

Sundowns XI: Williams, Ndamane, Kekana, Mudau, Modiba, Mokoena, Adams, Morena, Matthews, Sales, Leon

Subs: Onyango, Reisinho, Allende, Letlhaku, Zwane, Lunga, Motiva, Johannes, Shalulile

MC Alger XI: tbc.
