Sundowns Ladies Return To Winning Ways

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies returned to winning ways in the Hollywoodbets Super League as they claimed a 2-0 win over TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies in a top of the table clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.

Noxolo Cesane was on the score sheet, as was Boitumelo Rabale who caught up with Leandra Smeda as the current joint-top goal scorer with eight this season.

The result sees the defending champions remain in first spot on the table with 35 points after 15 matches, while TUT remain behind them with 31 points from 18 games.

In other results University of Cape Town (UCT) registered a second successive win, beating Copperbelt Ladies 2-1 at home. UCT rose two positions up on the log to eighth place with 22 points in 17 matches, while the Limpopo side remained in seventh position with 25 points from the same number of games.

Elsewhere Royal AM were 1-0 winners over Richmond United at the Harry Gwala Stadium, however remained second from bottom with 13 points in 18 outings but equalled points with United above them who have played one game less.

Durban Ladies are still winless this season as they were held to a goalless draw by Ezemvelo at Mpumalanga Stadium in the KZN derby. Durban Ladies remain at the foot of the table with just five points in 16 matches, while Ezemvelo dropped to ninth position with 21 points in 17 games.
