Sundowns hire four new faces in major scouting restructure

Posted on November 8, 2025

Mamelodi Sundowns have welcomed some impressive new faces to their scouting department.

The Brazilians are a dominant force in African football at the moment. Their performances at this year’s Fifa Club World Cup were proof they’re on the right track.

But Sundowns are not resting on their laurels. In fact, the club are working tirelessly to build for the future.

As part of their vision, the Tshwane giants are building a top-tier scouting network.

Mamelodi Sundowns hire new scouts

According to the latest reports, Sundowns have hired some big names in the scouting world.

Carlos Mtshamba of the Carlos Academy has joined the Brazilians, as per FARPost .

The East London football guru who took charge of the Chippa United reserve team last season certainly has an eye for talent. Mtshamba is credited for scouting Aphelele Teto.

Furthermore, SuperSport United academy administrator Bianca Mohlabane has also joined Sundowns in a reported scouting role.

The same publication are reporting that two more scouts have been hired by the Brazilians. The club are expected to make official announcements in the coming days with even more recruitments expected.

Masandawana this season

Miguel Cardoso’s side have already missed out on the MTN8 as well as Carling Knockout trophies.

They are however in the CAF Champions League group stages, a competition that’s top priority.

Sundowns also look like they’re in for a grueling league title defense. Both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are firing on all cylinders in the league.
