Sundowns Held By Siwelele – iDiski Times

Posted on December 3, 2025

Mamelodi Sundowns and Siwelele settled for a 1–1 draw in their Betway Premiership clash at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Wednesday.

The hosts went ahead through Vincent Pule in the first half, before Lebo Mothiba pulled one back for Masandawana in the second stanza.

Masandawana made just one change from the lineup that started against MC Alger in the CAF Champions League group stage clash, replacing Divine Lunga with Aubrey Modiba.

Meanwhile, Siwelele introduced two new faces, bringing in Neo Rapoo and Gape Moralo for Aphiwe Baliti and Relebogile Mokhuoane.

Sundowns were forced into an early change after Grant Kekana picked up an injury, bringing on Kegan Johannes in his place.

Despite dominating the opening exchanges, the league champions found it difficult to carve out clear scoring opportunities as Sundowns kept probing in the final third.

Vincent Pule put his side ahead in the 27th minute, finishing off a pass from Tebogo Potsane, who seized on an error from Ronwen Williams.

Sundowns showed little intent to fight back and posed minimal threat to their opponents, who stayed organised and strong defensively.

In the second half, the Tshwane side continued where they left off, controlling possession but still struggling to create clear chances in front of goal.

The hosts seemed to be defending deep, with Sundowns pinning them in their own half as they kept knocking and searching for an equaliser.

In the 74th minute, some tidy interplay unlocked Siwelele’s defence, allowing Mothiba to slot home to level the scoreline.

The final whistle blew with the score unchanged; as neither side found a winner, the two sides were forced to settle for a point each.
