Sundowns dealt major transfer blow, R30 million bid rejected

Mamelodi Sundowns have been dealt a transfer blow in the form of a rejected bid.

The Brazilians are working hard to build a CAF Champions League winning squad.

Their current transfer window has been fairly quiet, and now their attempt to boost things up hasn’t exactly gone according to plan!

Sundowns eyeing Brazilian star

Mamelodi Sundowns tabled an opening bid for Brazilian midfielder Matheusinho worth a reported R30 million.

Unfortunately for Masandawana, his parent club Santa Clara have rejected the offer!

Matheusinho is currently out on loan back home at Club do Recife, where he continues to impress.

Recife will also have a say in the deal as they hold a first option to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis.

Sundowns are expected to come back with an improved offer for the 26-year-old star.

“Diario de Pernambuco are reporting that Masandawana have submitted an offer of €1.5 million (approximately R30 million) to Santa Clara for Matheus Leonardo Sales Cardoso,” a KickOff report read.

Who else should Miguel Cardoso sign?

Who else should Mamelodi Sundowns sign? Do you think their current squad has what it takes to win the CAF Champions League this season?
